Indonesia SIPF Reaffirms Commitment to Investor Protection Amid Capital Market Dynamics

Jakarta, September 24, 2025 – The Indonesia Securities Investor Protection Fund (Indonesia SIPF) has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding and strengthening investor protection amidst the evolving dynamics of the capital market.

President Director of Indonesia SIPF, Gusrinaldi Akhyar, emphasized that investor protection is a fundamental pillar in building public trust. “We understand the public’s concerns. However, it is important to note that investor protection mechanisms in Indonesia are already in place, developed in accordance with regulatory mandates, and continuously aligned with international best practices. In many countries, investor protection institutions are a vital part of the capital market ecosystem to ensure that public trust is well maintained,” he stated.

Indonesia SIPF asserted that Customer Fund Accounts (Rekening Dana Nasabah/RDN) are also protected, just like securities, in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations. This means investors are not only legally assured of their asset ownership but are also provided with a sense of security when investing.

In addition, Indonesia SIPF serves as the final layer of protection or second line of defense, reinforcing public confidence in the safety of investing in the capital market. This role complements the existing protection systems, further strengthening investor trust in the national capital market.

As part of its ongoing commitment, Indonesia SIPF continues to enhance its public education and communication efforts through the annual Investor Protection Month (IPM), conducted in collaboration with key stakeholders. The implementation of IPM 2025 is a tangible demonstration of Indonesia SIPF’s support for the OJK Capital Market Roadmap 2023–2027, as well as the achievement of the Self-Regulatory Organizations' (SRO) Key Performance Indicators (KPI), which focus on increasing capital market inclusion.

Now in its fifth year, IPM 2025 carries the theme "Digitally Smart, Financially Wise". This theme highlights the importance of financial literacy and investment awareness amidst the rise of the digital economy. With better understanding, investors are expected to seize market opportunities while anticipating risks, leading to a healthier, more protected, and sustainable capital market ecosystem.

Gusrinaldi concluded his statement with optimism: “We believe that Indonesia’s capital market will continue to become more inclusive, competitive, and secure. Indonesia SIPF will remain at the forefront of investor protection while supporting the development of a healthy and trustworthy capital market industry,” he affirmed.
